Get To Know YLEO ~ Blue Cypress Essential Oil

Sometimes referred to as Blue Gold, Blue Cypress is a beautiful, cobalt blue and is the only naturally blue essential oil that comes from a tree. Other blue essential oils such as German Chamomile and Blue Tansy are from flowers. Pico de Gallo

What You Need:

• 2 large fresh ripe tomatoes, diced (we prefer Roma)
• ½ onion, chopped
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• 1/2 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped 
• 1 green onion, chopped
• ½ cup cilantro leaves, chopped
• 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
• 2 drops Lime essential oil
• 1 drop Coriander essential oil
• Salt and pepper

What You Do:

Combine tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapeno, green onion, cilantro, lemon juice, Lime, and Coriander in a medium size bowl. Mix together and add salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate for 30 minutes prior to serving to let flavors develop. Serve with your favorite chips, or use as a topping for bean burritos!  Enjoy!!

Get to Know YLEO ~ Juniper

Juniper ~ (Juniperus osteosperma and J. scopulorum)

Extraction Method:  Steam distilled from stems / leaves / flowers

Historical Data:  Bundles of juniper berries were hung over doorways to ward off witches during medieval times. Juniper has been used for centuries as a diuretic. Until recently, French hospital wards burned sprigs of Juniper and Rosemary to protect from infection.

Medical Properties:  Antiseptic, digestive cleanser / stimulant, purifying, detoxifying, increases circulation through the kidneys and promotes excretion of toxins, promotes nerve regeneration. 

Uses:  Skin conditions (acne, eczema), liver problems, urinary / bladder infections, fluid retention. 

Fragrant Influence:  Evokes feelings of health, love, and peace and may help to elevate one's spiritual awareness.

Application:  Dilute 1 part essential oil with 1 part V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex or other pure vegetable oil; 


(1) apply 2-4 drops on location,

(2) apply on Chakras and / or Vita Flex points, 

(3) inhale directly, 

(4) diffuse, 

(5) take as a dietary supplement.

Ginger Pear Green Smoothie

What You Need:

• 2 cups almond milk (or other preferred plant milk)
• 2 cups spinach
• 1 ripe pear
• 1 drop Lemon essential oil
• 1 drop Ginger essential oil
• 1 drop Cardamom essential oil
• 2 tablespoons flax seed, optional

What You Do:

Combine and blend in blender until smooth! Serves 2.

Cooking With Essential Oils

Are you cooking with essential oils? What do you add your essential oils to when creating recipes?

Here are some quick ways to add essential oils into your recipes . . . . 

Breakfast

1. Waffles: Add 1–4 drops of Orange essential oil to wet waffle mix. For frozen waffles, add essential oil to syrup instead!

2. Oatmeal: Add 1 drop of Cinnamon Bark and 2 drops of Orange essential oil to a bowl of oatmeal or oat bran, and then sweeten with Blue Agave.

3. Lemon with Berries: Add Lemon essential oil to berry smoothies, or to plain soy yogurt and top with berries.

Snacks

1. Vegan Cream Cheese Spread: Put softened vegan cream cheese into a bowl and mix in Lemon essential oil to taste.

2. Olive Oil Dipping Sauce: Add various culinary herb essential oils to your olive oil, such as Rosemary. Pour over a plate of balsamic vinegar and use focaccia bread for dipping.

Dinner

1. Tomato Pasta Sauce: Add 2 drops of Basil essential oil and 1 drop each of Rosemary and Thyme essential oil to tomato sauce base.

2. Potato Salad: Add 1–2 drops of Dill essential oil to your favorite potato salad recipe.

3. Rice Pilaf: Add 4 drops of Lemon essential oil to water before adding rice.

4. Salad and Fruit Rinse: Use 3 drops of Lemon essential oil in a bowl of water when rinsing lettuce, grapes, berries, and greens.

5. Mock Tuna Salad Sandwiches: Add 3 drops of Lemon essential oil per can of chick peas . . . chop and mix with celery, vegan mayo, Tumeric and freshly ground pepper. Spoon onto whole grain bread and serve topped with alfalfa sprouts.

Beverages

1. Hot Lemon Tea: In 1 cup of hot water, mix in 3 drops of Lemon essential oil and Blue Agave to taste.

2. Horchata with a Twist: Add 1 drop of Cinnamon Bark essential oil to a tall glass filled with ice and vanilla rice milk.

3. Vanilla Smoothie: Add 2 drops of Lemon or Peppermint essential oil to any vanilla smoothie. Peppermint also works great in a chocolate smoothie!

4. Flavored Water: Add 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil to your water bottle.

These are just a few ideas of the many uses for essential oils in your everyday meals and recipes!
